Jill and Jay’s Wedding at the Sonnenalp in Vail, CO
A couple of weeks ago I made it up to the Sonnenalp Resort in Vail to photograph Jill and Jay’s wedding. Wow. We could not have asked for better timing or more gorgeous winter weather. I drove up the night before, just before the storm hit and made it back down after it had all cleared up!
I had the privilege to substitute their engagement for a rather unusual shoot. Jill and I drove up to Cameron Pass a few weeks prior to the weedding for a “nature” shoot. When I say nature, I mean in every way… Jill and I found a beautiful spot in the woods (covered in snow) and we photographed her nude! It was one of the coolest experiences ever! I even joined her in a shot of tequila. I was surprised how easily my creative juices flowed. There is something about trees and nature that makes a nude shoot completely normal feeling and tasteful. Here are a couple that I can show you…

On to their amazing wedding!
They had a fun pool party the night before and I just HAD to get a shot of everyone jumping in together!

She had a gorgeous neclace that draped down her back with this beautiful rose pendant in the front.

I love how Jay looked at her during the lighting of the unity candle.

This day was full of happy tears!

We braved the snow after the ceremony to get some beautiful shots of it coming down.

I love this shot of Jill cutting a rug!

Everyone else joined in (the hilarious one on the left is one of my brides from this summer Jen)!

Stay tuned! I have some really cool news that I’m going to announce tommorrow!
Lesley and James’ Engagement
Lesley and James met me at the new Horsetooth park and Old Town in Fort Collins this last weekend for their engagement session. I have had an instant connection with Lesley since I met her. I knew she was a wonderful person even before I knew she was a practicing vet in town. She was so wonderful when I found out Peanut was sick, asking me all sorts of questions about her condition, trying to help me in any way possible. I feel so honored that she dedicated so much of her time to help me out. I am just getting better aquainted with James, but I definetely see why they are a great match. He is so sweet and caring. I feel so lucky to have my job!!!!!
On to the photos!

We are already planning another fun shoot, so stay tuned!
I have some serious catching up to do!!!
I am so sorry I have been bad about blogging lately. Sometimes time just gets away from me! Anyway, I figured I would start with all the family sessions I’ve done lately. I’ve had such a great time playing at parks and enjoying the snow! Here are some of my recent favorites…
First, Angie, Brian and I met up at a park in Denver…

Next, the Murphy family that owns the historic B&B, the Sheldon House in Fort Collins…

Next, the Duffert family. We went to Bath Nursery up in Fort Collins…

Little Derek and Owen are the sweetest little boys!

Last but not least, my good friends the Hewetsons!

Thanks for letting me take your family photos! You’re all great!

Goodbye little Peanut
Yesterday we had to make the sad decision of putting our little kitty Peanut to sleep. We found out a week and a half ago that she had severe kidney failure, so we’ve been getting prepared for the inevitable. It was a sad day full of tears. I am one of those people that has pets and accepts them as family members, so it is hard to realize that our family is not going to be the same. Goodbye little Peanut. We will never forget you!
