Playa Del Carmen, Mexico Day 4 – my first Trash the Dress session!!!

Day 3 of my trip to Playa was a great day to rest up and get to bed early for Steph and Rod’s Trash the Dress session.  We met just before 6am so we could shoot during the sunrise and it was totally worth the loss of sleep!  I am so excited to say that I think my first Trash the Dress session went really well, and it was a blast!  I even trashed myself.  It was great.  So, without further delay…

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico Day 2 – Steph and Rod’s Wedding!!!

I am still in the editing process for their wedding photos, but I wanted to post some of the shots that have been standing out to me.  I will probably post more when I get the editing done!

I’ve already put this shot of Steph putting on her makeup on my home page.  I just thought it turned out really cool!

I just think she is STUNNING in this shot.  She has the most beautiful doe eyes…

It was SO HOT on the wedding day!  When we got back to Steph’s room it was a necesity that she cooled of with the blow dryer set on “cool.”  This is one of the many hysterical shots I got of that…

This moment during the ceremony stood out to me…

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico Day 1 – Steph and Rod’s Engagement

I am so behind getting these posts up!  If you haven’t heard, we are selling our house up in Fort Collins so we can make the move to Denver!  We have been swarmed with showings this last week, so my work has not been getting done like I would have hoped.  I am optimistic that this all means we will be moving soon though!  Anyway, on to Steph and Rod’s wedding!!!!

I pulled into the Iberostar Quetzal hotel in Playa Del Carmen on May 7th and met up with Steph and Rod imediately so we could have a fun little engagement shoot by the ocean.  I’m so glad we did because the photos turned out awesome!  It is so fun to shoot somewhere completely different from what you’re used to.  And the setting was gorgeous!  The beach was perfectly sandy white and the water was aqua blue.  We even had a cool steady breeze.  Beautiful!!!!!  Here are some of our shots from that day…

Tornados!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Alison Willliams @ 11:21 pm

What a day!  I spent many hours today in our crawl space with my daughter Maya and my cat and dog because we’ve been surrounded by tornado central.  Is it just me, or is the weather crazy this year?

What was craziest was realizing what I would bring down to safety with me.  Surprisingly enough, other than my family, I brought my camera equipment and backup hard drive with me into the crawl space!  I just felt like that was what I couldn’t live without!  It really put things into perspective for me.  I guess I really do love my job (not that I really needed to be reminded of that)!

I hope everyone in Windsor is doing alright and finds themselves safely in the comfort of their newly remodeled homes soon!  Good luck!

Danna and Bill’s Wedding in San Francisco, CA

Few!  I’m finally posting Danna and Bill’s wedding!  It was such a great couple of days hanging out and shooting them!  We started on Friday for an “engagement” session by the Golden Gate Bridge and had a great wedding on Saturday on a boat that patroled the San Francisco Bay.  It was absolutely beautiful!  Here are my favorite highlights from the trip…

Danna and Bill both got ready at a gorgeous hotel called The Inn Above Tide right on the bay…

The rooms had spectacular views!

Bill never officially proposed to Danna, so he decided to do it right before she walked up the isle.  This was her reaction…

It was such an emotional ceremony.  I love this photo because they are still crying!

Bekah and Josh’s Maternity Session

Filed under: Maternity photography, Portrait photography — Alison Willliams @ 8:56 pm

A few months ago, Bekah and Josh met up with me at Picnic Rock in the Poudre Canyon.  We had a really fun shoot playing in the water, etc.  When she got the photos, she surprised me and said, “I bet you didn’t realize these were maternity photos.”  I was so excited for them!  Since then, we planned a real maternity session (and soon a newborn session).  It was finally time for the baby bump to make it’s debut a few weeks ago.  Here’s some shots from our day…
Bekah is such a beautiful pregnant lady (it doesn’t hurt that she’s all baby!)…

San Francisco!

I just got back from San Francisco to photograph Danna and Bill’s wedding on the San Francisco Bay.  It worked out great for us because my whole family got to go and we stayed with my sister-in-law and her boyfriend Mike.  I’m still working on the edits from the wedding, but here are some highlights from the city and surrounding areas…

The flowers at Half Moon Bay were gorgeous!

The scenery was to die for at Half Moon Bay.  It was like walking into a dream.

There were cool puddles (I’m sure there’s a more technical term for them) in all the rocks along the shore…

I climbed up onto some rocks that were being crashed into by waves…

And when I looked closer I saw that the rocks were completely covered by muscles.  It was really cool…

This was what I saw when we first walked down to Half Moon Bay.  Absolutely gorgeous!

The view of the city from the top of Twin Peaks…

My sister-in-laws’ boyfriend, Mike, gave us a great tour of the city.  I got a lot of drive-by shots of cool buildings.  I just thought this was hilarious!

San Francisco

I can’t remember the name of this street, but it’s the “curviest” in the country!

This is the church where Marilyn Monroe married Joe DiMaggio…

If you’ve ever seen the movie “The Sweetest Thing,”  you’ll recognize this street because they dance up it in the beginning…

I just thought this was a cool city shot…

There were TONS of cool murals!

Sorry if I bored you with so many photos.  We just had a blast!  If, by a slight chance, you want to see more, you can check out my daughter’s blog here.

Kintla

13 months ago, my good friend Kim told me that their husky Kintla has cancer.  Since then he has had countless visits to the vet and received many chemo treatments.  I am happy to say that he was in remission for 13 months!  A few weeks ago it came back.  He is on steroids and chemo again, so we’re hopeful that it will work this time too.

Since he was diagnosed, we have been planning a little photo session for him.  We finally got to do it a couple of weeks ago at Lee Martinez park in Fort Collins.  Here are some of my favorite shots…

He’s so handsome, isn’t he?

Kintla

Here he is with Logan (my daughter Maya’s best friend!)…

Logan went off on her own for a while, but I couldn’t resist getting a few shots of her in the tall grass…

She decided making some funny faces would be fun too!

This one cracks me up because it is a classic moment of how Jack always messes with Kintla (notice the paw on his head)…
